How to brew "Cold Brew" with a French Press

What You Will Need:

- 85 grams of coarsely ground coffee

- 1 liter of cold, filtered water

- A French Press

- Paper filter setup (V60 or Chemex)

- A refrigerator

- A digital scale

Measure out 85 grams of coarsely ground coffee and add it to your French press.

Gradually pour 1 liter of cold, filtered water into the French press, ensuring all coffee grounds are saturated. Use a spoon or a stirrer to gently mix the coffee and water together, ensuring there are no clumps of coffee grounds. Place the lid on the French press, but do not press the plunger down. This allows the coffee to steep. Store the French press in the refrigerator. The steeping time can vary based on your taste preference, but generally, it's recommended to steep for 15-24 hours. After the steeping period, slowly press down the plunger to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid. This is your cold brew concentrate. Pre wet a paper filter then pour liquid from French Press through a paper filter to remove oils and silt. For Example, Wet a chemex or V60 paper filter then pour Cold Brew through the paper filter. To serve, dilute the cold brew concentrate with water or milk to your liking. A good starting point is 1 part coffee concentrate to 2 parts water or milk, but adjust according to your taste. Pour over ice, add any sweeteners you prefer, and enjoy!
