As we spend the month expressing gratitude, we pause on this special day to reflect on the bravery of our nation’s heroes. In appreciation for the men and women who have served in our armed forces, we’re offering 10% off all coffee online between the 8th and 12th of November.
For our servicemen and women, be sure to stop by any Daily Rise location on the 10th & 11th with your military ID and enjoy one of the following:
“For the veteran, thank you for bravely doing what you’re called to do
so we can safely do what we’re free to do.”
- Unknown
We have gathered ten different options for you to celebrate and honor our Veterans in positive, meaningful and heartfelt ways. Enjoy!
#1: The Annual Flight of “The Major” Giant Flag - Coldwater Canyon, North Ogden, UT
Hike to view the largest flag in the state of Utah hung to honor the late Major Brent Taylor who died serving his country and to honor all those who have served in or are currently serving in our military.
#2: Attend a Veterans Day Parade & Honors Ceremony
Gather with members of the community from all over Northern Utah in Layton for the annual Veterans Day Parade and say thanks! Immediately following the parade, Layton City is hosting a Veterans Honors Ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial Wall replica site.
#3: Visit a Veterans hospital or Nursing home
A simple visit goes a long way in showing appreciation. Take some time to spend with our older veterans, ask questions, and hear their stories. This one act is a great way to brighten someone’s day and reminds them their service is not forgotten.
#4: Donate to Veterans charities
Many Veterans face significant challenges after serving and require support with housing, employment, and mental health. Donate to organizations dedicated to taking care of our Veterans and make a real impact on the lives of those who sacrificed so much. For a local charity to support in our area, check out the list below:
#5: Write Letters of Appreciation
Take a moment to express your gratitude in a handwritten letter. Your words can provide a meaningful boost of encouragement and appreciation. Send to a family member or check out the following organizations to help get your note into the hands of active-duty military members or veterans in your community.
#6: Display the American Flag
Flying the flag is a time-honored tradition and a great way to show your respect for veterans. It is also a great way to reflect on the symbolism it holds. For first-time flag flyers, we encourage you to make sure your flag is hung properly and respectfully.
#7: Volunteer at a VA
There are a variety of ways to support our Veterans in ongoing and meaningful ways. The Veterans Affairs hospitals are just one way you can help - whether through recreational activities or by simply providing companionship, your time and presence can make a world of difference.
#8: Support Veteran-Owned Businesses
One practical way to show support to our veterans is by purchasing their products or services. This is a great way to acknowledge their dedication and hard work that stretches beyond their military service.
#9: Watch a Military Documentary
Documentaries provide incredible insight into the world of those in our armed forces. This is a great way to gain understanding and knowledge on the realities of war and the complexities Veterans face when coming home.
#10: Teach the Next Generation
Honor Veterans by teaching the next generation the value of freedom and how to honor those who’ve served. Share stories, engage in discussions, visit historical sites, or help organize community events to show the significance of those who’ve fought with courage and bravery to keep our land free.
It is our hope that together we can ensure the sacrifices of our Veterans and their families are always remembered and appreciated.
To those who’ve served from all of us here at Daily Rise Coffee…thank you.
Happy Veterans Day!

]]>It’s time to get outside so it only makes sense to kick off the season with our Trails Blend Coffee! Tastes exactly how it sounds, and $5 from each bag goes back to our friends over at the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah! The TFNU Team is hard at work on fixing up trails which were damaged due to the long, snowy winter. We are super grateful for all they do to keep us up and on the mountain safely!
Do us a favor and follow them on Instagram: @trailsfoundationnu
This way you can stay up to date on which trails to avoid until they are hiking/biking/running ready. And if you are interested, with the runoff expected to come with the snow, we know they’ll be looking for volunteers to help keep our mountain areas safe for all. It’s a great way to get outside and give back to our community!
And while you’re at it, be sure to keep up with Ogden City and updates on the river and tips to stay safe when you are out and about!
As far as the rest of May, here are a few things to add to the calendar.
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14th, but here’s an idea: surprise mom with brunch the day before - she’ll never expect it! Stop by our downtown store, grab a cup of coffee and have a delicious crepe and then wander through the store and let her pick out something she likes on you! She’ll love the impromptu date! If you don’t have the time, you can also surprise mom with a Daily Rise coffee subscription and/or gift card which can both be found on our website.
The Ogden Marathon is May 20th! Now, you might not be a runner, but the Finish Line Festival sponsored by America First is for everyone! There’ll be a rock climbing wall, fun activities for the kids, food trucks, vendors and more. It’s a blast and you will not want to miss out. We’ll be there, cheering on the runners and joining in on all the fun! So be sure to stop by the DRC truck and say hi!
Wrapping up May is the fabulous Farmers Market Ogden which is one of our favorite things to do. There is a rhythm and routine to our Saturday mornings in Ogden through the summer: Daily Rise coffee, locally grown veggies, and saying hi to all of our Ogden friends. It truly is one of the best things about our community. Can’t wait to see you there! (8am-1pm starting May 27th! 25th Street, Ogden)
By the way, to get your 15% off the Trail Mix Blend, enter BEANOFTHEMONTH when you checkout online.

The coarse particles in coffee grounds work as an exfoliating agent to help remove dirt and dead cells from the skin. Coffee grounds can also be mixed with a small amount of honey and used as an exfoliating lip scrub. What's more, the caffeine in coffee grounds has potent antioxidant properties that can help protect the skin from sun damage.
If you don't have an immediate need for fertilizer, you can compost your coffee grounds for later use. Composting is a natural process that turns organic items such as food scraps and yard debris into a dark, rich material called compost. Adding compost to your yard or garden can help the soil hold onto more nutrients and water, thereby improving the health of your plants.
Did you know that coffee grounds contain essential nutrients for optimal plant growth? Most gardens need to be fertilized to ensure that plants have the nourishment they need to survive. Coffee grounds contain several key minerals, including nitrogen, calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and chromium. They may also help absorb heavy metals that can contaminate soil. To use coffee grounds as fertilizer, simply sprinkle them onto the soil surrounding your plants.
Certain compounds found in coffee, such as caffeine and diterpenes, can be highly toxic to insects. Because of this, you can use coffee grounds to repel bugs. They are effective at deterring mosquitos, fruit flies and beetles, and they may help keep other pests away too. To use coffee grounds as an insect and pest repellent, simply set out bowls of grounds or sprinkle them around outdoor seating areas.
Coffee grounds contain nitrogen, which helps eliminate a foul-smelling sulfur gas from the air when it's combined with carbon. In other words, coffee grounds can help absorb and eliminate odors. You can place a bowl of coffee grounds in your fridge or freezer to neutralize odors from spoiled or fragrant foods.
Coffee grounds are abrasive and can help remove buildup on hard-to-clean surfaces. They may even help sanitize due to their antibacterial and antiviral properties. Use them to scour your sink, polish your cookware, or clean your grill. Just be careful not to use them on any kind of porous material, as they can cause brown stains.
Coffee grounds can be used as a natural and inexpensive dye for fabrics and paper. By rewetting used coffee grounds, you can create a dye that can be used to color cotton, rayon, cellophane, linen and paper. This is an easy way to give fabrics and paper a vintage look or disguise existing stains on your clothing and towels. Used coffee grounds make a great non-toxic alternative to traditional dyes.
Used coffee grounds can be used to repair scratched wooden furniture. First, make a thick paste with used coffee grounds and water. Then rub the paste into the scratch using a cotton swab, allow it to sit for 5–10 minutes and then wipe with a cotton rag. This should help buff out the scratch and conceal it by dying the exposed wood a dark-brown color. Continue to dab coffee into the scratch using a cotton swab until the desired color is achieved, waiting a few hours between applications.
Reach out to your local coffee roaster and see if they have any jute/burlap coffee bags. There is a good chance most roasters will be happy to give them away. Some of them have great artwork that can be turned into window drapes or purses. They also work well in your garden. Put them around your plants to reduce the growth of weeds. Or you could lay them down in your walk way to keep it clean and weed free. It is a natural product and allows the water to go through, and reduce weeds from popping up.
At Daily Rise Coffee, we try to make a difference each day. By recycling glass, cardboard, and used coffee grounds, we're taking small but impactful steps towards a greener future. We believe every business is responsible to the environment and their community, and we're dedicated to doing our part. Join us in promoting sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint this Earth Day and every day!
Use code EARTHDAY to get 20% OFF any order of 4 bags or more. 4 bags = 20% off. This code will expire on Sunday, April 23rd.

Speaking of gratitude, April 22nd is Earth Day. So in addition to the steps listed above, here are a few more ideas that combine de-stressing with fun ways to celebrate Mother Earth!
April is going to be a great month! Spring is coming and there is so much to see or do! You are probably wondering: where can you find DRC out and about on the Wasatch front this month? We’ll tell you.
This year’s Winter Running Series wraps up this weekend with the Half Marathon. Like always, we’ll be out there with coffee and cocoa to keep you warm! We are so proud of these runners who have shown up in freezing temps and wind gusts, battling hills and getting in their miles. They’ve cheered and encouraged each other as well as celebrated one another’s successes. It has been an absolute blast to partner with the GOAL Foundation and others to support these runners! Well done to all!
This month we’re excited to bring you the bean that started it all! Our Organic Papua New Guinea bean is buttery caramel and graham cracker deliciousness in a cup. It is the foundation of all that makes Daily Rise who we are. Good all by itself, you will recognize it as the base of our Wilderness and Ogden City Blend. Be sure to get some!

We have been so grateful to Mother Nature. Utah has been having its best winter in years. YEARS. Please. Get outside and drink it in! There is so much available at our fingertips! Do not miss out on one of the best things about our area and community! Are you interested, but a bit unsure about going all in on equipment? No problem! Stop by the Weber State Outdoor Program for winter gear rentals. Not only are they open to the public, they have everything you could possibly need. Literally. Everything.
First, Ogden Nordic is hosting another Full Moon Glide Friday, March 3rd up at North Fork Park in Eden. Snowshoe, fat bike, or cross country ski through some of the prettiest country in the region! Festivities start at 6pm and go until 9pm. We’ll be up there enjoying the folks and providing hot cocoa - warming up the bold while you fill your soul!
Looking for something a bit more your speed? We are proud to partner once again with our local GOAL Foundation for this year’s Winter Race Series! It may be part of the training program for those gearing up for the Ogden Marathon, but it truly is a “for everyone” event. A couple weeks ago, we got to hang out at the 5K handing out coffee and cocoa, and it was awesome. There were mamas with strollers, people with furkids, and little kids chasing and racing mom and dad on the course! The 10K and 10 Mile are up next - there is still time to register and join in on the fun!
March 3rd is World Wildlife Day. You know we are huge fans of the wonderful outdoor culture surrounding us. We are also advocates of low-impact and leave no trace activities to better preserve and keep these opportunities available for our children and their children. It’s been a great winter for us, but a hard one for our local wildlife. Be mindful to give our wildlife the space they need to make it through these challenging months and beyond.
And to wrap it up, here are a few Daily Rise to-do’s to add to your monthly checklist.
Did you know that by buying this bean, you directly support the efforts of mighty women looking to make a difference in a war-torn country?
Mighty Peace Coffee, founded in 2018, is a women-and-minority-owned social impact coffee company seeking to build a new global trade model which protects the planet and simultaneously promotes peace in their area while taking care of their people.

February is coming in fierce! On the heels of Utah reporting the lowest recorded temp in the U.S. (thank you, Peter Sinks, UT!) and more snow than we’ve seen in a while, we look forward to sharing all the love we have for Utah - one of America’s greatest winter playgrounds!
As we all know, February is the month of love. To us that means loving yourself, loving your neighbor, and being grateful for the many ways love finds you in the day to day. We believe relationships of all kinds are vital to the human experience. We know what we get to do with Daily Rise Coffee today is due to the relationships we’ve been fortunate to build throughout the years. This month, we gotta show love to some of our awesome northern Utah local partners!

]]>Here at Daily Rise Coffee, we love helping you power through your day – whether you’re meeting friends on the river parkway or hitting the slopes. And we want you to be fueled not just with great coffee, but with amazing food that pairs perfectly with the day’s activities.
So if you’ve been by any of our coffee shops lately, then you’ve probably noticed our breakfast menu expanding a lot.
Crepes are a longstanding favorite for our customers. Our breakfast burritos were born out of the pandemic. And now we’re super excited about our fresh yogurt parfaits and overnight oats, so our customers have an easy, grab-and-go option.
]]>You open your eyes.
The sun is just peeking up over the mountains. It’s another beautiful day in Ogden.
You stretch, roll over, and check your alarm.
7:02.
Phew. You have just enough time to meet up with your hiking group and hit the trails before diving into the workday.
So you jump out of bed, throw on your gear, and grab the car keys. There’s no time to make coffee – and there’s really no time for breakfast, either.
Luckily, Daily Rise Coffee is on your way to the trailhead, so you make a quick stop in for a drip coffee to-go. As you wait for your drink, you glance at the breakfast menu.
A caprese crepe sounds delicious, but you’re short on time. You notice yogurt parfaits and overnight oats have been added to the menu since your last visit. And they’re waiting in the fridge, ready to go.
You opt for the overnight oats, intrigued by the blueberry coconut flavor combo. The barista cheerfully adds it to your order, hands you a steaming cup of coffee, and wishes you “happy trails”.
You thank her and head out to meet up with the crew for your morning adventure.
You’re energized, fueled, and ready to go.

So there’s something for everyone to choose from.
We’re so excited about how this has grown over the years. But we definitely couldn’t do it alone.
And maybe you’ve been wondering who the mastermind is behind our breakfast menu.
Get ready to meet Michelle, the talented chef at Daily Rise Coffee, and Ogden’s own “Crepe Lady”.
Here’s the story of how our paths crossed.
Daily Rise Coffee has been a small business vendor at the Ogden farmers market for over a decade.
One summer at the market, Michelle was our neighbor a few booths down from us. She moved from Seattle to Ogden a few years before to work as a wildland firefighter. After she hung up her firefighting hat, Michelle started running a crepe booth at the farmers market with her husband.
This turned out to be a fantastic setup for everyone involved. Customers could grab a cup of coffee and then order a crepe just a few steps later. And as we got to know Michelle, we really liked each other’s vibes.
We weren’t really looking to start a partnership together, and it didn’t happen overnight. But it did happen very naturally.
Fast-forward 9 years, and Daily Rise was still going strong at the Ogden farmers market.
But after years of juggling a full-time job and her crepe hobby, Michelle was feeling burnt out. So in 2016, she decided to take a break from running her booth at the market.
Ogden wasn’t having it, though. “Where’s the Crepe Lady?” customers asked us all the time as we filled their coffee cups.
We missed seeing Michelle, and we knew that our coffee-crepe combo was a hit with our customers. We really wanted to provide the local community with a quality food menu along with our coffee.
Then we happened upon the Ogden downtown location.
So we shared the exciting news with Michelle and asked if she wanted to be a more permanent part of Daily Rise.
At first, Michelle wasn’t sure she was ready to start a partnership with us.
It would mean leaving her job and making a switch. And she was worried that making her crepe hobby her full-time gig would take the fun out of it. But after giving it a lot of thought, Michelle threw in the towel at her old job, and teamed up with us to pursue her crepe-making passion.
It was the perfect set-up. We could finally offer our customers breakfast with their coffee – in a beautiful historic building in downtown Ogden.
Today, crepes are a staple at Daily Rise Coffee. It’s hard to imagine a cup of our coffee without a savory morning creation from Michelle.
If you’ve stopped by one of our drive-thru locations, odds are you’ve grabbed a breakfast burrito (or two) with your morning coffee.
Michelle’s one of the masterminds behind these yummy burritos.
When March of 2020 hit, our sit-down location had to close down, so we turned our focus to our drive-thrus. We really wanted to add food to the menu so we could continue fueling the local Ogden community.
Crepes are delicious, but they’re hard to eat on the go. So after a little brain-storming with Michelle, we started stocking our drive-thrus with fresh breakfast burritos. Customers were able to grab their drinks and a bite to eat – even if they were in a rush.
As you might have already guessed, our breakfast burritos turned out to be a hit. So once we were able to open our cafe again, the burritos became a permanent part of the Daily Rise Coffee breakfast menu.
We’re so excited to be able to give our customers quick, easy options.
When you’re out and about at an event in beautiful Utah, you probably don’t want to:
You want to be where the action is.
And we don’t want you to miss a moment of the excitement.
So about a month ago, we decided to give our Ogden coffee-lovers a more mobile breakfast option.
Michelle was inspired by the idea of yogurt parfaits. She nailed down a delicious concoction, freshly made with:
Next in line were our overnight oats. We wanted a gluten-free, vegan option. So Michelle helped us craft a tasty combination of:
Our yogurt parfaits and overnight oats are the perfect addition to the Daily Rise menu. They’re quick, portable, and delicious.
So you can enjoy a tasty breakfast – without missing out on any of the fun.
Over the years, our breakfast menu has evolved. And we owe a lot of that to Michelle.
Michelle loves being an active part of the local community and being able to share her talent as a chef. And she loves providing quality food and customer service to the people of Ogden.
Because of our partnership with Michelle, we’re happy to offer not only hand-crafted crepes, but also fresh breakfast burritos, fruit and yogurt parfaits, and tasty overnight oats. So whether you’re:
…we’re excited to be a positive part of your day.
And if you see Michelle on your next visit to Daily Rise Coffee, be sure to say hello. You’re in for a big smile, some friendly conversation – and delicious food.
We think you’d agree that things couldn’t have worked out better.

The first partnership is with the women-and-minority owned social impact coffee company- Mighty Peace Coffee. This company is one whose mission is built around peace in every cup. They serve over 15k farmers in the Democratic Republic of Congo and work with the emphasis of making a difference in the world by creating opportunities and relationships that are centered on keeping peace in the Congo and defending human rights.
The “Congolese farmers produce Kivu Arabica specialty coffees using various varieties, dominated by Bourbon varieties, grown on volcanic soil at an altitude of over 1,800 meters, between Lake Kivu and the Mitumba mountain range. Umoja coffee offers a complex mix of flavors.”
We roast this Fair Trade Organic bean on a lighter scale to bring out flavor notes of cinnamon, orange and cardamom. Its complex properties leave your senses satisfied and alert for your day:) We, at The Daily Rise, love grinding and brewing this bean in our Chemex pour over!

We are excited to share another amazing partnership, this one coming from the Molina family-owned farm in Guatemala- San Victor Estates. From seed to table it has been sourced with a fair-trade partner. The story of Alejandro and family is one of opportunity, perseverance and a strong connection to the people in this coffee region striving to bridge the gap in the inequalities of the coffee industry. In addition to the San Victor coffee farm, their operation also includes a wet mill that acts as a hub for small farmers within their community. It allows these small farms the opportunity to make a real financial impact for their own families and be given the opportunity to supply roasters all over the world with their high quality coffee.
This company is all about connecting, sharing and creating a coffee world that improves the lives for everyone at every step of the way. Their passion for ensuring the farmers see the return they deserve is a reason we can’t get enough of this coffee. Their story and their actions make us all want to do more.
For us, This medium roast is well balanced and highlights the best of Guatemala coffees with a rich caramel, almond and chocolate notes for an excellent cup. We love the brew coming out as a wonderful drip coffee or an aeropress that creates a sweet and fun short espresso shot for that anytime zing.

When we got the news that we were part of the Ogden Farmer’s Market, but it was going to be a different market this year, one with no drink preparation, minds and imagination went into development mode. Fast forward to June 20, 2020, the first Ogden Farmer’s Market, The Daily Rise introduced 3 new bottled products to test out! These will be only available at the Market at this time. Here is the low down.
Sweet Blonde - this is our Classic Cold Brew with an amazing twist- we added Cream and Sugar! It has all the caffeine of our classic, but just added some “friends” in order to create a sweet finish that makes it easy to consume & LOVE!
Cold Brew Tea - Coconut Oolong and Butterfly Pea Flower. This energizing Bao Zhong Oolong has been a Daily Rise favorite since we first brought it in. The Butterfly Peaflower was a bonus in order to create a brillant aqua color as well as a brain healthy adaptogen. Why not?
Cold Brew Botanical - This is our Hibiscus Berry Ginger Lime which is naturally sweet (no added sugar) caffeine free, and tantalizes the taste buds and allows you to enjoy all day long. We wanted a product for kids to enjoy as well as those that are naturally energized and not looking for the extra boost.
]]>With this new year came a new energy and a new focus for the expanding crew. The members involved are all about spreading the positive vibes and promoting our winter wonderland :) We met with a few of these guys at our Roastery just a little while back and their love for catching big air and entertaining the masses with their authentic and creative videos leaves me wondering what is coming next?
]]>Each year when June rolls around, The Daily Rise starts getting excited. Another Ogden Farmers Market is about to start! As a team, we reflect on last year's market season, and brainstorm that “something new” that we can to bring to the Ogden Market for the next year. “Promoting Positive Energy” every step of the way :) Last year it was unanimous- the idea was set- we were going to bring our CRÊPES!
Backing up a bit... When we opened our third retail location, inside of the WSU Downtown building, we finally had a space to bring in some type of healthy, yummy food. Months after the grand opening, and multiple brainstorming sessions later, we reconnected with Michelle Green (She was one of the founders of Ogden’s first crepe booth at the Farmer’s Market back in 2009) From this friendship, the coffee and crepe venture started to form : ) With a lot of great ideas and Michelle’s expertise, we were able to add an amazing crepe menu to our already amazing specialty coffee menu. This crepe menu features a perfect mix of sweet and savory options with attention towards locally sourced, fresh ingredients and vegan and GF options. We were so excited to get the buzz out, as we had already fallen in love with our new downtown vibe. Michelle and her spinning expertise was the missing piece to our first sit down cafe. “Coffee and Crepes” just has a magical ring to it when you say it, don’t you think? (My personal favorite, The Spicy Hippie with fresh jalapenos… yummmm)
Crepes are served 8 am- 2 pm daily at our Daily Rise Coffee Downtown (2314 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT). Check out dailyrisecoffee.com to see the full menu :)
